The creation of CEN/TC 251 fuelled the development of the Good Electronic Health Record architecture (GEHR) and the Generalised Architecture for Language Encyclopaedias, followed by the Nomenclature in Medicine (GALEN).

The European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF) was published as a Commission Recommendation (C (2019) 800).
