Sofia Franconi holds an engineering degree in Physics and has experience in medical device design. Since April 2021, she has been part of the IHE-Europe staff, working as an Interoperability lead in the European Affairs team. She contributes to major EU projects, including X-eHealth (focusing on diagnostic imaging, laboratory specifications, and service transports), UNICOM (IDMP adaptation and implementation), XpanDH (Organizational Readiness WP leader), and xShare (implementation of the yellow button for EEHRxF). Actively involved in IHE ecosystem, she is an IHE Certified professional and has served as a Monitor at the IHE-Europe Connectathons and now leads the organization of the IHE-Europe Connectathon Week and Experience Days. Her work advances interoperability, aligning digital health solutions with the European Health Data Space (EHDS) framework.
