The xShare project workshop will take place during the IHE-Europe Connectathon Week 2026 in Brussels. The workshop is scheduled for 24 March 2026 (09:00 – 12:30 CET) and will be hosted as part of a week-long programme of interoperability events running from 23–27 March at The EGG, Brussels.

Titled Connecting primary and secondary use of data in the EHDS: creating the conditions for real data fluidity, the workshop will focus on one of the core challenges of the European Health Data Space: how to better connect data generated in clinical care with secondary uses such as public health, research, and policy-making.

The session will bring together experts and practitioners from across Europe to explore concrete use cases from EU Member States, including experiences with “only once” data collection approaches. Discussions will look at what is already working, where barriers remain, and how shared frameworks and standards, such as the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF), can support smoother data flows across different contexts.

By hosting this workshop, xShare continues its mission to strengthen health data sharing and interoperability across Europe, supporting collaboration between national initiatives, standards organisations, clinicians, researchers, and other key stakeholders.

More information about the workshop and the Connectathon Week programme is available on the IHE-Europe website. We look forward to welcoming participants in Brussels.
