At the 2025 IHE-Europe Plugathon, SRDC’s STAGE Clinical Decision Support Tools received the Silver xShare Industry Label – the highest certification level awarded at this stage, marking a significant milestone in advancing data portability and interoperability in digital health.

Developed within the EU-funded STAGE project on healthy aging (Horizon Europe Grant nº 101137146), the tools are designed to deliver personalized clinical decision support using the SMART-on-FHIR standard. SRDC – a software R&D company with deep expertise in healthcare interoperability – focuses on seamlessly integrating these tools into electronic health record (EHR) systems to support patient-centered care.

A standout feature is the use of the xShare Yellow Button, which enables patients and clinicians to access the tools even in low-infrastructure settings. By exporting health data as SMART Health Cards and using QR codes for data sharing, users can benefit from tailored insights without direct EHR integration.

During the Plugathon, SRDC tested its full range of scenarios, including IPS Producer, IPS Consumer, QR Holder, and QR Receiver. The tools successfully exchanged data with multiple vendors, demonstrating interoperability with different HL7 FHIR profiles and confirming real-world readiness. The collaborative environment also helped the SRDC team rapidly identify and resolve technical issues in real-time.

The company now plans to incorporate Plugathon-driven improvements – particularly around SMART Health Card exchange and IPS handling – into its development roadmap. These enhancements will be gradually deployed across current STAGE project deployments, with updated versions expected in upcoming project phases.
