Citizens (Patients)

The European Health Data Space (EHDS) introduces a new way for citizens and patients across Europe to access, manage, and share their health data. It brings together key information to help you understand your rights and how your data can be used to support your care.
By putting individuals at the center, EHDS empowers you to take control of your health information, enabling better continuity of care, greater transparency, and secure data sharing across healthcare systems.

EHRxF in a nutshell (Citizen)
The EHRxF framework allows citizens and patients to easily access and share their health data across healthcare providers and EU countries, helping ensure better and more continuous care wherever they are.
It puts individuals in control of their own medical information, such as prescriptions, test results, and medical history, while keeping their data secure and accessible when needed.
New rights for patients in Europe
The EHDS regulation introduces new rights for patients in Europe, giving them greater control over their electronic health data, including access, sharing across borders, and the ability to contribute their own information.
It empowers individuals to manage who can access their data, track its usage, and easily share it with healthcare providers, while aiming to improve interoperability and continuity of care across the EU.
The 1st EHDS Adoption Kit Webinar for Citizens
The video explains how the European Health Data Space (EHDS) gives patients easier access to their health data and allows them to share it securely with healthcare providers across Europe.
It highlights how this improves continuity of care, empowers citizens to control their data, and enables safer, more efficient healthcare systems through better data exchange.
xShare Persona - Long COVID GP
Over 20 years, Dr. Lambert has witnessed the rise of long COVID. Initially
uncertain, he adapted by listening actively, accepting uncertainty, and valuing patient knowledge. At times, he realised he struggled to recognize long COVID or provide adequate support, due to the wide variety of symptoms and the time lapse between the initial infection and the appearance of persistent complaints. For years, he felt unsupported in this task.
Thanks to the EEHRxF, he is now very happy that patient discovery by relevant authorities — always within the consent of patients — can happen more easily. Patients are empowered to actively send their data for secondary use, while both patients and GPs feel part of an ecosystem where they grow together rather than feel left alone and behind.
